The rich scent of Original Carshalton Lavender™ in our Scrub

Rich in Original Carshalton Lavender™. The Lavender from our fields here in Carshalton is unique and regarded as one the best in the World (even by our French friends!). A wonderful blend of herbaceous low notes and sweet high notes.

How to use Original Carshalton Lavender™ Salt Scrub

You can use a salt scrub either in the bath or shower. Use in the shower can be easier, though using in the bath allows you to soak in the therapeutic properties of the salts.

Standing up (be careful not to slip as the oils in the Salt Scrub can make the floor slippery) take a handful of the scrub and rub it in all over you body. The scrub is great on the face, just be careful of your eyes.

When you have done your complete body, shower your entire body and wash as normal.

Use to polish the skin on the body, perfect in the lead up to a Sun Holiday where you will show off your legs and parts of your body that are otherwise hidden throughout the year.

We would recommend weekly usage of a Salt Scrub.

The History of Carshalton Lavender

At Naturallythinking we are proud to be associated with the Local Carshalton Lavender project, which is reviving the Lavender fields of Carshalton, Surrey, our home town.

Carshalton, Surrey was once the home of the worlds Lavender production, producing arguably the finest Lavender in the world. The Lavender was commonly known as "Mitcham Lavender", as the distillation plant used to be located on the Mitcham / Carshalton border at Figs Marsh. Indeed the Lavender fields stretched all the way from Wallington in the South to Mitcham in the North and across parts of Croydon.

A combination of competition from abroad, combined with demands for war time metal and then the post war London housing boom (the first large scale Council Estate was built at St Helier, Carshalton, largely on the site of the original Lavender fields), sadly led to the demise of Lavender in the area.

Towards the end of the 1990's local sustainable charity, BioRegional started the revival project, claiming unused plots of land and planting them with direct descendants of the Original Carshalton Lavender™ plants. These plants have been nurtured by community projects and harvested on an annual harvest event involving the whole community, drawing people from across the country.

The Lavender produced is truly amazing, and you soon see why even the French admitted that Original Carshalton Lavender™ is the finest in the world. The Lavender is beautifully herbaceous giving a true feeling of the plant in all the products it is used. If Lavender has an "absolute" version, then Original Carshalton Lavender™ would be it.

Increasingly, once again Carshalton is coming alive with the colour of Lavender and it is great for us to be part of this revival. The small scale production and sheer quality of the oil makes it a highly sought after commodity.

We distill all of our oil on site with our still at the farm, so the oil is fresh from farm to bottle.

I have used this a few times now and am delighted
it leaves my skin so soft. Have put some on and massaged before getting into the shower but also put a handful in the bath for a relaxing soak. I had a great night's sleep after it. Look forward to buying more Carshalton lavender products soon as the aroma is divine.
