The plant, native to Europe is a tall biennial or perennial herb with a big hairy purple and green leaves supported by a reddish tinged stem. The flowers are small white or blue/violet.
Characteristics
Sweet, Musky and herbaceous top notes with almost floral undertones.
Oils to Blend with
Clary Sage blends well with most essential oils, we like to use Clary Sage with Bergamot, Cedarwood, Citronella, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Juniper, Lavender, Lime, Orange and Sandalwood.

Precautions
Clary Sage can heighten the senses, reduce inhibitions and relax muscles. It is these qualities which make Clary Sage the essential oil of choice for use in aphrodisiac blends. Please bare this in mind when using. Alcohol will heighten the effects of Clary Sage.
Use in large quantities can over relax the muscles, leading to a headache, if this happens simply stop use and drink plenty of water.
As with all essential oils, Naturallythinking recommend you avoid when pregnant.
