Shelf life will depend upon the ingredients you add. Adding oils which quickly go rancid can reduce the life expectancy of the product, whereas adding oils with long lives and for example high Vitamin E content can extend the life by further adding to the natural preservative system.

Aloe & Seaweed Gel - Skin Hydration Gel 
Parabens Free

High anti-oxidant base which can be used like our Aloe Vera base, but with the antioxidising properties of Seaweed. The carbomer that gives the gel its viscosity is neutralised by the alkaline salt of the sodium hydroxide. Blends well with 0 - 4% essential oils. The gel balm will allow the addition of liquid dyes. Although naturallythinking never use fragrance oils; they will work absolutely fine in all of our base products. Our Aloe & Seaweed Gel is made using natural seaweed extract, because of the naturalness of this product which varies in colour throughout the year, we cannot guarantee batch colour consistancy, sometimes the colour is more "greeny" and sometimes a little more "brown".

With a high percentage of Aloe Vera & huge amounts of Seaweed, it is a base with huge natural anti-oxidant properties direct from the seaweed. The Polysorbate-20 allows the effective addition of Essential Oils to allow for customised blends which will combine with the Aloe Vera and be absorbed into the skin. A very powerful way to administer essential Oils direct to the skin with the properties of Aloe Vera & Seaweed.

Directions for Blending
Use neat on all areas of the skin, helps soothe ad tone the skin. You can combine the Gel with more essential oils to make your own unique blends.

The Aloe & Seaweed Gel is capable of absorbing 0 - 4% of essential oils and a very small amount of carrier oils, for safe use we reccommend maximum of 40 drops per 100ml of Essential Oils. The Aloe Gel is clear to slight green tinge and can be combined with colours and fragrances also (although this is not something we do at Naturallythinking). Certain oils and Fragrances can cause the gel to become slightly cloudy when mixing. In most cases this will settle and re-clear after approximately 24 hours, though certain oils, especially the thicker ones can turn the gel to an opaque consistancy as opposed to clear.

Directions for use

Apply to the desired areas of the skin, forming a light layer over the skin, allow up to 3 minutes for the Aloe to be pulled into the skin naturally. If you have combined essential oils with the Aloe Vera Gel, they will be absorbed by the skin at the same time. A potent way to administer essential oils, they should be used carefully in a maximum dosage of 30 drops per 100ml. The Gel has an ability to absorb a much high level of essential oil and for the administration of essential oils such as Lavender and Tea Tree can make a very effective medium in which to apply the oils.

Aloe vera & Seaweed is a great way to use essential oils with kids, being in a fun topical solution which can be diluted to low levels for their safety.

When blended with essential oils the Aloe Vera & Seaweed Gel may go cloudy, this depends upon oil and is purely natural
