Using Base Products

Base products from the Naturallythinking Base range offer you a chance to create products which match your skin type.

Everyone is different and this is your opportunity to make a product that works for you. For some, simply using the Base product helps the skin immeasurably, the relative simplicity being all the skin needs, blended shop bought products can sometimes be too much and the chemical nature of many products can often irritate the skin and often you find it is just the chemical which has been added for colour or scent which cause the skin more harm than the product is doing good. The addition of essential oils and carrier oils can offer tailored skin solutions which you just cannot find in shops giving you the chance to help maintain and manage your skin, taking into account environmental and temperature changes throughout the year. You can blend yourself products which will add that extra moisturisation on your summer holiday or give you that degree of protection when ski-ing. You can create blends specifically for your whole family or an indulgent bath treatment just to "get away from it all".

Our Base Products

We won't pretend to be the only people making Base products, however we do feel we put the most passion and effort into making something a little bit special. Our natural ethos ensures we use only the finest ingredients in our bases and we blend to perfection, constantly striving to improve the formula, consistency and effects.

Blending with Base Products

The general rule with our base products is maximum 40 drops of essential oil in 100ml of base product. You do not have to put 40 drops of oil into the base product, for example if you are making a product for sensitive skin or for children you may only put 5 - 10 drops. A good blending book will help you in your blending and we always recommend "The Fragrant Pharmacy" by Valerie Ann Worwood

Blending for Gifts & Knowledge

Blending your toiletries and skincare products can not only be highly beneficial to your own skin, but also be a lot of fun for the entire family. Get you children involved, helping to understand what is good for the skin and what you put on the skin and in your body really does matter.

You can produce personalised gifts for friends and family and help family members out with their skin problems. This is often one of the biggest ways people are introduced to blending for yourself, through the introduction of others helping.

The Environment

When blending at home remember you can reuse all of your packaging, so purchasing some of our larger base sizes cuts down on waste and helps you re-use and recycle. We have moved all of our product packaging to aluminium, PET plastic or glass. Every packaging item is looked at for it's environmental credentials and the energy it uses in both transportation and production.

As well as providing you with great bases, we can help you with the entire process. Our website is packed full of packaging which you will not find elsewhere in England or Europe. We have worked hard with manufacturers across Europe to provide a range Plastic PET (environmentally friendly plastic), Aluminium (lightweight and recycled) and English glass (locally produced) which is available with no minimum order and at excellent prices.

Labels
We can produce your labels for you with no minimum order size at very reasonable costs. Our labels are produced to the same specification as our own and produced in-house by us. Our labels are 4 year waterproof in the shower and will not deteriorate with oils and hot water.
